Abstract

The search for a definition of the concept of investment policies and their impact on the costs of human capital in its three categories: (recovery costs, learning costs, replacement costs), the research dealt with an overview of investment policies and human capital costs And the relationship of influence between them through four potential channels for the impact of investment policies on the costs of human capital, And by the method of content analysis of the annual financial statements of a sample of (15) banks listed in the Iraqi Stock Exchange for the period from 2010-2020, as well as field visits and personal interviews conducted by the researchers with bank employees for the purpose of providing the necessary data to measure the study variables, This is because there is no disclosure of most elements of human capital costs individually and clearly, and correlation and regression models have been used to examine the relationship and influence between these variables, it was concluded that there is a high level of dispersion and inconsistency levels of investment policies among Iraqi banks, This indicates the vast difference between the lowest and highest value for the efficiency of investment policies, and there is a positive and significant correlation between the investment policy and the costs of human capital (in total and in its three categories), meaning the higher the level of efficiency of the investment policy, the higher the level of spending on capital.
