Abstract

This research is aimed at understanding the supply chain management at Nestle India Ltd. and how Information Technology helps Nestle to increase its supply chain efficiency. Supply Chain Management is one of the most integral and crucial process in any company and especially when it comes to being a nutrition and wellness company. In the present era, the role of supply chain management has shifted from that of a support department to a core department, on which the overall operations of the organization are based. Supply chain management is a process which involves sub-processes such as logistics management, vendor management, enterprise resource planning, total quality management, customer relationship management, etc. This study further highlights how Nestle efficiently uses the Information Technology resources to improve its supply chain processes. Basically, the present study focuses on the current supply chain strategies adopted by Nestle and how can it further improve its efficiency of operations in the field of supply chain management. This study will also throw light on some of the crucial processes taking place at Nestle, such as total quality management, enterprise resource planning, supplier relationship management and customer relationship management.
