As technology progresses, the construction sector are witnessing emerging innovations. Among these advancements, the utilization of 3D printing technology stands out. In the field of civil engineering, professionals are now employing this technology to fabricate buildings. Unlike traditional construction approaches, 3D printing offers notable advantages in terms of efficiency, encompassing speed, expenses, workforce, and error reduction. This technology's growing popularity is attributed to its ability to facilitate the creation of intricate architectural designs and various small-scale items. The initial step involves the creation of 3D models to guide the printing of building structures. These structures are then produced using 3D printers and an enhanced cement-based mortar material. To enable the construction of stable layers and achieve 3D printing without the occurrence of shrinkage cracks, it's essential to develop a proper recipe for the building material. This involves determining suitable mixing ratios. During the placement of the building material, a layered production process is employed, eliminating the need for a mold. Throughout this process, precise control is maintained over the width and thickness of each printing layer. The use of sustainable building materials is a key consideration in structures constructed using this innovative technology. Furthermore, efforts are underway to minimize material wastage, aligning with a zero-waste approach. The objective of this study is to provide a concise introduction to this cutting-edge method and engage in a discourse about the existing body of literature.
