Abstract

A lot of projects in the under developed and fourth world countries fail on the basis of unsuccessful implementations of the projects. These projects become much costly but the benefits of these projects are never given to the beneficiaries of the projects. The main reason behind the failure of such projects is lack of monitoring and evaluation of the projects. The present research aims to find out the role of third party monitoring in National Social Safety Nets Projects. This paper tries to give frameworkfor the importance of strategic monitoring and how they can be applied to ensure successful completion of projects. The paper also sets out the common constraints that impede effective monitoring and outlines ways in which they can be overcome. The results of the study suggest that project management must pay serious attention to time, cost and quality, which are most important competing factors of project management.
