Abstract

Conflict and violence cases in Indonesian football involve riots involving football supporters, including clashes between supporters, supporters and security forces, and between supporters and the general public, accompanied by destruction and damage to objects, as well as casualties, both in terms of human lives and material. These conflicts are caused by excessive competitive passion, giving rise to contemporary football conflicts. This study analyzed the Mechanisms of Conflict and Violence among Football Supporters in Indonesia. A qualitative analysis method was employed to examine the mechanisms of conflict and violence among the supporters. There are two factors to describe and analyze the mechanisms of conflict and violence among supporters: cultural and structural.
