Stakeholders’ Management and Social Value Delivery of Construction Projects in Nigeria: A Case of Niger Delta Region

Abstract

Prominent environmental and social problems in the Niger Delta region is created from poor stakeholder’s management within construction firms, unmonitored growth of multinational companies and non-social value creation of construction activities. (1) Background: This study examines the role of stakeholder’s management of construction projects in social value delivery in the Niger Delta region. (2) Methods: To achieve this, this study adopted the mixed methods research design. In this case, Data were collected using both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics while the qualitative analyses were analysed using thematic content analysis. (3) Results: The results reveal that despite the presence of multinational organizations, social value delivery in the Niger Delta region is inadequate. Conclusions: This study also establishes the role of stakeholder commitment as a crucial tool in social value delivery.
