Abstract

The development and international status of Japan's foreign direct investment Japan's foreign direct investment began in 1951, and the investment amount was only 283 million US dollars by the end of the 1950s. Since the mid-1960s, Japan's foreign trade balance has been blackened for a long time, so from 1967 to 1972, five capital liberalization measures have been implemented, which lifted the restriction of foreign exchange capital on overseas direct investment. At the same time, the Japanese government has also taken many corresponding measures to promote overseas direct investment, such as establishing a foreign exchange loan system, lowering the loan interest rate of the Export-Import Bank for overseas investment, and establishing an overseas loss fund system, etc. A period of important changes took place.
