Small and Medium Enterprises Development Design Based on Economic Education: Learning from SMEs Life in Penajam Paser Utara, Indonesia

Abstract

One of the driving forces of the national economy is the role of SMEs. One of its roles can be seen from the absorption of labor, which is higher than in other sectors in Indonesia. Reducing unemployment and poverty rates in Indonesia is one of the important roles of SMEs for the Indonesian economy. This study explores the application of economic education concerning rationality, irrationality, morality, lifestyle, and altruism SMEs Tourism Sector in North Penajam Paser Regency. This study uses qualitative with 15 data on SMEs actors in the SMEs tourism sector. This study also notes that SMEs tourism sector in North Penajam Paser Regency has conducted economic education activities in their business activities.
