Abstract

Migration of Workers is a common phenomenon in underdeveloped regions. Lack of jobs opportunities and poverty in home country compel workers to migrate to developed countries.  The objective of this research is to study the impact of remittances on standard of living of recipients’ households in district Kech (Balochistan), Pakistan. workers’ remittances are essential in developing standard of living.  For this purpose, survey-based data of 200 respondents is used to construct the standard of living index by Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The result supports the hypothesis that workers’ remittances have affected standard of living of the recipients’ families positively and significantly. Also providing training and make them learn skills which are necessary components for migrant workers to earn handsome salaries and incomes in overseas so that their finincial contribution enable the recipents’ family to live properious life.
