Getting a job with a decent income is the dream of many workers. Meanwhile, the increasing labor force is not proportionally followed by working opportunities. The economic crash with a low level of education causes many workers to become victims of labor fraud who offer jobs with the lure of high incomes. Illegal job providers utilize fake job advertisements through social media and other online means, looking for prospective workers as a source of maximum financial benefits by ignoring the fate of candidates. At the same time, workers do not realize of becoming victims of human trafficking and have forced to surrender when treated inhumanely at work. For this phenomenon, these candidates must be legally protected from the perpetrators of human trafficking for job scams. Therefore, this study will discuss how to prevent human trafficking in illegal job vacancies from the perspective of normative juridical research with prescriptive analysis. The study’s result indicates that worker candidates play an essential role in protecting themselves. In addition, preventing the crime of human trafficking can be carried out by collaborating with all stakeholders, namely the Ministry of Employment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Police Department, National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, Institutions implementing the placement of employment, as well as the employer and the labor force. Moreover, it is noticeable that an Independent Worker Application (APM) as an information technology system is required to support labor protection, which provides various information in the field of employment, and its programs can be accessed easily and cheaply by (candidate) workers, especially when planning to apply for a job.
