Abstract

Transversal skills are considered important and have high demand in the global market. So, educational institutions face a real challenge while developing the transversal skills in students. Content and language integrated learning (CLIL) not only helps in the development of language competences and deep understanding of the content, but also provides great prospects for the improvement of transversal expertise. This research provides insights about the options for better preparing students for social assimilation through effective application of CLIL approach. This research also provides assessment of the mediating role of emotional intelligence in the relation between content and language integrated learning (CLIL) approach and development of transversal skills. The research concludes that the application of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) approach involves completely new approach to policy and provides some useful recommendations for education policy makers.
