Abstract

Entrepreneurship education holds significant promise for driving economic development, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). (Obiageli et al., 2023) This review article explores the determinants, impact, and future directions of entrepreneurship education in SSA, drawing on theoretical frameworks, empirical evidence, and best practices from the region. (Olarinde & Auta 2024). The review begins with an overview of the evolution of entrepreneurship education in SSA, highlighting key socio-economic, institutional, and cultural factors that have shaped its development over time. (Wang et al., 2023). It then examines government policies and initiatives promoting entrepreneurship education, discussing their implications for policy and practice. (Chimwaza, 2023). Theoretical perspectives on entrepreneurship education, including human capital theory, social learning theory, and the resource-based view of entrepreneurship, are analyzed in the context of SSA, exploring their applicability and relevance to the region. The review also assesses the effectiveness and outcomes of entrepreneurship education programs, identifying areas for improvement and innovation. (Wang et al., 2023). Finally, recommendations are provided for policymakers, educators, and practitioners to enhance the quality, accessibility, and impact of entrepreneurship education in SSA, with a focus on promoting inclusive economic growth and sustainable development. (Asongu et al., 2023). By synthesizing existing research and providing insights for future research and practice, this review contributes to a better understanding of the role of entrepreneurship education in driving socio-economic change and empowerment in Sub-Saharan Africa. (Woldesenbet et al., 2024).
